STATEMENT - Patternscapes

This series is based on the simplicity and complexity of memory. Reductive tendencies of recollection result in abstraction, while complexity is reintroduced through line. Pattern acts as a poetic method of recreating detail, capturing bits of specific memory such as the formation of a pine branch or remembering the presence of small waves across the surface of the water, and creating a simplified, linear language with which to express it.
